Dan Crews has been a quadriplegic since a 1986 car accident. In June of 2009, Dan told medical staff at Milwaukee's Froedert Hospital he'd made a decision. He wanted them to turn off his ventilator.
According to Crews' medical records, a psychologist diagnosed him with "personality disorder features" and "major depressive disorder." "It is my impression that this depression is impacting his decision making," the psychologist wrote. This television report shows Crews making his case in a reasonably articulate manner.
Crews apparently wants to challenge the hospital's refusal to honor his wish to have his ventilator removed.
