I had a great discussion last night about the technologization of birth in America. Coincidentally, this morning, my son showed me this from his Arrow Book of Funny Poems (Eleanor Clymer ed. 1961).
A doctor fell in a deep well
And broke his collar bone
The Moral: Doctor, mind the sick
And leave the well alone
